Advantages: Funny, great story

Disadvantages: None

Shopaholic & Baby is a book by Sophie Kinsella. It is the fifth in the popular 'Shopaholic' series.

The novel tells the story of Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood), who is pregnant with her first baby. Anyone who has ever read a shopaholic book will know what to expect, Becky uses her pregnancy as the perfect excuse to spend, spend, spend!

Whilst the first two books in the series really dealt with Becky's problems as a shopaholic, the subsequent books have dealt more with her personal problems, most often those that arise out of married life. Although she still loves to spend money, the most important event in this book is Becky's suspicions that Luke, her husband, is having an affair with their beautiful obstetrician, Venetia Carter, who happens to be an old flame of Luke. Old favourites such as Suze, Jess and Janice, and Danny Kovitz, Becky's designer pal, all make a reappearance.

I think that this is book is definitely up there as one of the best of the Shopaholic books. It's funny, and has some very typical Becky moments to make fans laugh! I can't wait to see if it will be turned into a film!

Summary: Brilliant addition to the Shopaholic series
