Silent Scream - Lynda La Plante

Having never previously read anything by Lynda La Plante, I came to Silent Scream expecting a gritty crime drama which follows DI Anna Travis following the murder of Amanda Delany. It was clear from the description that Lynda La Plante has covered the relationship of Anna Travis with James Langton before, however, for newcomers it was easy to pick up. I did enjoy this book in parts. The start of the book leading to Amanda's murder is well written as we learn of Amanda's life and her behaviour towards other key characters in the book.
