Advantages: unputdownable
Disadvantages: had to come to an end
I have recently read 'silent witness' by Richard Patterson. I love court room dramas and this one is one of the best I have read. The story is about a man(Tony) who returns as a lawyer to his home town where years before as a teenager he had been the prime suspect of the murder of his first love. He had been absolved of that murder. Now, his best friend of that time (Sam)was in trouble, accused of murdering a young girl, a student. Tony has been asked by Sams wife to help him with his battle to clear his name. The past and present become embroiled with each other and Tony has a lot of self searching to do. I did not skip any paragraphs at all, something I find myself doing when reading most books. Some authors like to go on a bit with over-descriptive clever-clever but boring passages. Richard Patterson did not indulge in this at all. Everything was straight and to the point. Like I say, this is a jolly good read.
