As well as being an ace TV programme, 'The Simpsons' has had many spin-off products. With merchandise ranging from food products (crisps, cereal) to t-shirts and mugs, there is pretty much everything available. But books relating to the series have appeared over the years, and one of the best of those is this. Titled 'A Complete Guide to Our Favourite Family', this is a book that actually contains more than you'd expect. Most of the book is an episode guide to 'The Simpsons, giving details and plot summaries of all episodes from 'The Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire' in 1989 (season 1) to 'The Secret War of Lisa Simpson' ... 'A complete guide to our favorite family' is a useful book for both fans of the Simpsons, and for casual viewers, as it contains plenty of information that would keep both happy. It's one of the only comprehensive guides to nearly everything you need to know about the Simpsons! It has a nice layout, and is very colourful, so it will appeal to Simpsons fans of all ages. The book opens with an introduction to each individual Simpson family member, before telling you how the guide works. There's also a short section devoted to the very early Simpsons short episodes. The book then devotes 1-2 pages to each individual episode, starting with ... Read the complete review

This book is the most comprehensive guide to "The Simpsons" that I've ever come across. Sure, it has some weak points (explained further on), but if you're a real fan you won't let that put you off. On the first two pages, there are detailed profiles on each of The Simpson family (excluding Grampa and Patty, Selma etc...) This is very informative, giving you all kinds of additional info that you might not of known about your favourite cartoon characters! On the next page, there is a brief episode guide on "The Shorts" (the original Simpsons which featured on the "Tracey Ullman" show. After that, ... Read the complete review

Rating:
This is an extremely interesting book which takes you into the lives of the simpsons through the creator Matt Groening. This is a superb guide of your favorite dysfunctional family. On the first couple of pages in explains The simpson family (Homer. Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Magggie) in great detail, for example their height and weight. On the next two pages in describes all 48 simpsons shorts witch apperead in America on the Tracy Ullman show. They were a two minute sketch witch has only aired in America. The animation for these were very poor because Matt Groening drew them quickly because he thought they would neaten them up for him. ... Read the complete review
