Advantages: An easy read which is great for bedtime!

Disadvantages: Predictable!

Well I just read this book and I can't really make my mind up about it! At the time I thought it was a great read and I felt like I couldn't put it down, but now I think back on it it feels like hardly anything actually happened in it!!

CHARACTERS-
Emily- She's 24 and still a virgin but not through lack of offers! Its a lifestyle choice which many men want to break and many women resent. She hates her job working for a woman who is constantly ridiculing her, and has a dream of opening a shop "Saltwater" in Cornwall where her brother Alfie lives.

Holly, Rachel, Caitlin and JoJo- Emilies friends, they all stick by her decision, but don't really agree. Especially Caitlin who thinks Emily is just been pathetic and is just scared.

Sam- Sam loves Emily, always has since he met her when she was 16 in Cornwall when she was on holiday. But he'd never had the chance to tell her, now he's come back into her life but someone is destined to get in the way of them.

Oliver- Oliver was there with Sam when he met Emily for the first time, he knew he loved Emily, but still kissed her on the beach. Ever since, Emily has been besotted with him. When he came back into her life a couple of years ago for work though, he was in a relationship with Nessa. But, a year on and he's newly single...but will he want Emily how she wants him??

Alfie and Jennifer- Alfie is Emily's brother who lives in Cornwall, and Jennifer is his new girlfriend. They don't really play much of a part in the story but are in it throughout.

PLOT- When Emily runs into Sam after a year of not seeing him, she's shocked to find that Oliver is back from the USA and is now single. One of Olivers wishes before he left for the USA was that Emily quit her hated job- as one of her closest friends he felt it was best for her. but she still hadnt plucked up the courage to do it, until this day.

Upon quitting her job, Emily finds herself in a hole, no job prospects, no money. So she decides her dream of Saltwater should become reality and heads off to Cornwall to stay with Alfie and look for shops to let.

When she is there, Alfie sets her up on a double date with he and Jennifer and her and Sam. Even though she falls a little bit for Sam, she only wants Oliver, and tells him so. He warns her against him, but she doesn't want to listen. Poor Sam is heart broken but decides there is no point in loving someone who doesnt love him back.

Back in London, Caitlin, JoJo and Holly are planning. They think the reason Emily is still a virgin is that she is still caught up on Oliver, and plan to set her up, on a Ski trip to the French Alps. All the girls were going anyway, but they now decide to invite the boys too, Sam, Oliver and Leon (Caitlins Boyfriend).

Whilst on the trip, Emily realised Oliver isn't who she thought he was, he didn't respect her decision to stay a virgin, and is only going after her because he knew Sam wanted her, he loved a challenge more than he had ever loved any woman.

Meanwhile Sam and Emily become closer and closer.

Old enemies become new friends and old friends become new enemies.

The story is heatwarming, but very predictable!! Right from the first chapter, the first few sentences in fact, you know exactly who Emily is going to end up with in the end, you also know who is going to get in the way of the relationship.

There really aren't any twists and turns, but its still a nice and easy book to read, and so a good one for the bedside table or the aeroplane!

I would recommend it to people who like easy books and people who dont mind predictablitlity! Like me, I like to read, if the story is a bit predictable then hey, never mind!!!

I've never even heard of the author before so this could be a debut novel from Louise Harwood, though I could be wrong so don't hold me to it! i would read another novel by her though! :-)

Summary: If you don't mind a bit of predictablitily, its a good book for you!

No she has written other books I have read one of hers called "Calling on Lily" I think, it was quite silly but very enjoyable!
