This is really one of my favourite books of all time and although I've not read it in a while I thought it was time for a review! It is by Meg Cabot, one of my favourite authors who writes chick lit books and while she is famous for her teen books such as the princess diaries this is one of her adult books.

I was attracted to it because the title seemed interesting and I like Meg Cabot. It's quite different from what she normally writes about - heather Wells is a washed up pop star and is looking for a new way to earn her living, so ends up working as a dorm rep which is basically looking after people who live in a college dorm in New York City. It seems like it should be easy enough and she gets used to it until a murder takes place, and then more start occurring. Heather needs to catch the killer fast or the dorm will be shut down, can she do it at the same time as avoiding people recognizing her and trying to lose a bit of weight?

I really quite enjoyed it and thought it was a nice change from what Meg Cabot normally writes about, the mystery element in it was really good as it kept you guessing and I was desperate to find out the ending and who had done it!

****Meg Cabot-size 12 is not fat****
I was drawn to this book by the title and then i noticed that the author was someone i liked so i bought the book.

      **Main character**
      Heather
At the start of the book we find out that she used to be a well known singer but her record company decided to dump her because she wanted to sing her own lyrics. Her mum then ran off with all her money and life savings.Life defiantly isn't great for heather as on top of this she walks in on her fiancee getting a blow job from some singer she hates. She has to get a job and she finds one at a New York college dorm but this does not pay that well so she ends up in temp digs with Cooper(her ex's brother).

      **Storyline**
Girls in the dorm she works at keep on dying through elevater surfing.Heather is the only one that thinks that these are not accidents, since in her opinion they aren't the type of girls that would do that. She decides to find out who is behind the killings but will this lead to her own death?

I thought this was a good book as the author keeps you guessing until the end who the killer is and the answer is not who you expect. It is easy to read and once you pick it up you might find it hard to stop reading .

      Price
i bought it as a 2in1 book from the works and it was in the 3 for a fiver range. You can also get the book from Amazon from 0.01 not including delivery charges.

When you peak at fifteen, where can things go but downhill? Former teen pop sensation Heather Wells has hit rock bottom: tired of singing other people's lyrics, she hasn't exactly been bombarded with recording contracts for her own songs. Worse, Dad's in jail, Mom's bolted for Buenos Aires, and Heather can't seem to stop drowning her sorrows in Kit Kat bars. To top it all, Heather's fiance Jordan Cartwright has replaced her - on the charts as well as in his bed - with America's newest number one pop sensation, Tania Trace. When Heather finds a job in a New York college dorm - right around the corner from her temporary digs in her gorgeous friend Cooper's attic apartment - things seem to start looking up...at least until girls in the dorm begin to perish at an alarming rate. Elevator surfing is the official explanation from university administration, but Heather has other suspicions, and - enlisting a reluctant Cooper's aid - she attempts to get to the bottom of the rash of teen deaths in the building where she works, never knowing that it isn't her supper she'll be singing for this time, but quite possibly her life.
