Slawter - Darren Shan

Description: ISBN 0007231385 / Author: Darren Shan / Genre: Junior Books

Newest Review: ... as I once would. Darren Shan has written many books, including 2 series (The Darren Shan Sega, which is going to be made into ... more

... a film, and This Demonata Series), a world book day book (which was brilliant), and he has enrolled into adult fiction also. I have read all 12 books of The Darren Shan Sega, and I cannot wait to watch it on the big screen. Now these books are kind of messed up (well in my opinion) as there is like 2 series enrolled into 1. The first book is all about somebody called Grubs Grady. Then the second book is all about someone entirely different, and the book is set in the past. Then this book comes back to the present, ...more

Premium Review Slawter - Darren Shan: The Director's Cut Is Fatal... (971 words)

This book is the 3rd book in the Demonata series. I have just looked at my 2 reviews on the second and first books of this series, and I am surprised at how rubbish those reviews actually are. It just goes to show that I am actually improving on my reviews. I've been meaning to finish this series off, but Darren Shan keeps on making more and more books in the series, and I so cannot catch up. But I am trying. I got this book, along with the next 2 books, from the scholastic catalogue. I got all 3 of them for only £6.99 which is well worth it considering each book is £5.99 in the shops. I always buy out of the catalogue as it is inevitably cheap and I just ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Slawter- a gripping and gory book (330 words)

Slawter originally pencilled in as 'Demon Town' sees the return of a familiar character in Grubbs Grady. Grubs' sister was destined to turn into a werewolf, the cure led to dealings with a demon master called Lord Loss. After Grubbs' parents lost in the deal they made with Lord loss, they were killed. Grubbs lived with his uncle Dervish from then on. In Lord Loss they had their first encounter with the demon master. This book could be considered as the sequel as it continues where Lord loss left us. His uncle, Dervish is still feeling the aftershock of traversing the world of the demonata in his continuing nightmares. A director by the name of Davida is keen ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Slawter - Darren Shan: Let the Slawter begin! (495 words)
by - written on 08/05/08 (Very useful, 37 readings)
Rating:

This is the third book in the demonata sage. It however is the fourth chronologically. This is the direct sequel to the first book with Grubbs Grady retuning as the hero of the story! This series uses 3 protagonists that even though all will come to know each other in the earlier books they are separated by time. I would probably call Grubbs the main hero as it is he that features in not only the first book but the majority of the books from the seven that have already been released. There will be a total of 10! At the end of the first book Grubbs has learnt many things. He knows there is a curse on his family where by they may become werewolves. He also knows ...  Read the complete review
