What would you think if someone gave you a book and told you: "I did not really enjoy it. It was an uncomfortable read."? In many ways, it is probably the best type of marketing that someone could do. The minute she said those words, I was intrigued. I made it my top priority to read the book immediately. Richard and Lelia appear to be the perfect couple. They get along superbly, they can talk for hours, they are best friends - and they are very much in love. Richard and Lelia’s baby is conceived after a giggling fumble before a dinner party at a friend’s house. They arrive horribly late, full of apologies and eager to join in the Christmas festivities. A woman, Sylvie, stands watching them. She is in the background, barely noticeable, and is soon forgotten. However, very quickly she is beginning to appear all the more frequently in their lives. She is the first person Lelia meets after having her pregnancy confirmed.
