This is a lovely and peaceful bedtime book for kids, with a slightly different angle on things to the usual books. Written by Claire Freedman and illustrated by Tina Macnaughton, it takes place on the African plains, and goes from animal to animal as they try to get their young ones off to sleep. We see lions, procupines, antelope, leopards, various birds and other such animals, with the wording on the pages minimal and the theme solid all the way through. Snuggle Up, Sleepy Ones One of our daughters chose this book on our last trip to the local library and it is a truly lovely bedtime book. It is a board book with a padded cover written by Claire Freedman and wonderfully illustrated by Tina Macnaughton. "The sun paints the sky a warm, glowing red. It's time to stop playing, it's time for bed" It is night-time on the African Plains and all the baby animals are cuddling up to their parents in anticipation of bedtime and sleep.
