As some of you might know I am currently on a disability studies course but I was previously on a GNVQ Advanced in Health and Social Care course. By doing, this course you get to come across a lot of different sociology textbooks. I think that this book has to be one of the best sociology textbooks written. This book is aimed at people who have brief or very little knowledge about the subject of sociology. I think everyone on my Sociology course at university had a copy of this book. It's a brilliant introduction to sociology for anyone who is encountering the subject for the first time. It covers the main sociological theories and how they apply to different topics, such as education, the family etc. It's also essential for when you haven't done your homework and need to quickly brush up on what you "should" know! This book really comes into it's own when researching for essays as it gives you a short introduction to your chosen topic, an overview of the most important theory and has a brilliant bibliography.
