Sociology AS is approved by OCR, the exam board, and is the best resource available for anyone taking AS1 sociology. What is sociology? Sociology is the scientific study of society, and individuals within it. The term itself comes from the latin socius which means 'associate' or 'companion'. When translated the term quite literally means 'the study of companions or associates'. The book is split into sections, seven to be exact, and each one looks at a different aspect of sociology.
