Like the headline, this book truly is p.g. wodehouse at his best. This is the first of his novels from his blandings series where you are introduced to the wealthy, eccentric and sometimes entirely barmy lord emsworth and his extended family. His house doesn't quite seem complete unless someone is intruding upon their lifestyle or if their nephew is asking to borrow yet more miney for his ill advised business exploits, women or gambling. Some readers may not like this series as much as the jeeves and wooster series as that has Wodehouse's most popukar characters but to those familiar with Wodehouse's novels will most likely prefer rhis series.
