This is quite fortunate because part of my job (when I'm working in the Children's Library) is to check the returned picture books for various baby and toddler induced stains ~ a variety of scribble, drool and some things that it's best not to think too long about! Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball by Vicki Churchill is the tale of Little Wombat and the things he enjoys doing. He knows, for example, that when he curls up in a ball no-one can see him. Yet he doesn't always want to be so inconspicuous: he also takes pleasure in jumping high in the air and seeing how much noise he can make on landing, disturbing a mole as he does so.
