If you want to know what might happen if the paranoia of the X-Files was mixed with the gritty realism of a UK police procedural novel then this is the book for you. Stephen Laws takes no prisoners....he goes for the jugular in everything he writes, and for me, has the highest scare-per-page ratio of any modern horror writer. This book is no exception...a roller coaster ride from start to finish. The high gore levels might not be to everybody's taste, but if you like your horror visceral, then Laws is your man. Steven laws is a relatively new author on the horror scene and he is very good. I have read a few of his, Somewhere south of midnight, The Frighteners Daemonic And he has published a few more to but since having a second child and the discovery of Dooyoo I only read for a while during the day! Somewhere South of Midnight is a book about a strange phenomenon that occurs after a horrific accident on a motorway. Just after midnight, something collides with the south bound traffic, not a car or lorry but something unseen....
