As the title suggests the book is full of songs and rhymes from the hit childrens television programme 'In The Night Garden'. It has every song and rhyme that I can think of, including the introduction song ('The night is black and the stars are bright and the sea is dark and deep...'), the rhyme which is said when approaching a ch...more

In The Night Garden is a rather surreal children's programme which is shown on cbeebees channel every night as part of the bedtime hour. It does tend to have a rather sophoric effect on my daughters with its gentle storyline and calming music - just right for getting them off to bed! As a parent though I find the stories all very confusing and have to admit to not getting them at all. There are very strange characters and I never seem to be able to 'tune in' enough to understand what they are saying. I have to admit to having to resort to asking my two year old who the characters are and what they do! So I was very pleased when my little one received this ...  Read the complete review

The 'Songs and Rhymes from In The Night Garden' book was brought for my daughter as one of her (too) many christmas presents last year. The book is quite big and is about half an inch thick. It is hardback which means it can take a good battering! We have a few scratches on our copy but they are not very noticable. The book can easily be wiped clean too. The pages are quite durable and easy for little fingers to turn. The book consists of 30 pages. The book is blue, has quite a soft texture to it and has the book title written in sparkly writing. It has a nice big picture of Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and The Tombliboos together on the ...  Read the complete review

Anybody out there who is a parent to a young child will have heard of the programme In the night garden, which is shown on the CBeebies channel!! I first started watching this programme when my god daughter was about 8 months old, whenever she used to stay at our house she insisted on watching this programme!! At first I thought it was an absolute load of rubbish, but I must admit I soon became drawn to it and found myself singing along to all their silly songs!! In May last year we had our first Son, he is now 9 months old and starting to pay an interest to what is on television, so for a little while each day I will sit with him and watch a children's ...  Read the complete review

My daughter was given this book a couple of years ago at Christmas. She found it in her playroom this week and we read it again this week at bedtime and this prompted me to write this review. This book is about 8 inches square and is padded so has a lovely quality feel to it. It is navy and blue and the front cover shows some of the Night Garden Characters. Each page is cardboard around 5mm thick so the book is very good quality and not easily damaged. Ideal for little hands as well as often with paper pages my little girl would rip them. The book goes through the songs for each of the characters in the programme. My daughter loves ...  Read the complete review

This is a beautiful book and well worth the £9.99 we paid for it from Mothercare (although my husband would disagree as he thought it was too expensive - he's not into books and hates spending money on them!) But with my begging and pleading we left the shop in possession of this book. It's quite a big book, bigger than most other Night Garden books I've seen - approx 25x25cm, and has a lovely soft padded cover which to me makes the book feel a bit more special. The pages are made from cardboard but are not quite as thick & sturdy as your usual board book, but still pretty durable nonetheless. As the title says, the book is full of songs and ...  Read the complete review
