I have a handful of authors whose books I religiously purchase and read the moment they become available. They are all my favourite authors and I couldn't choose one above the others. Nicholas Sparks falls within this category. Nicholas Sparks writes books that fall in the romance genre, they are normally more drama romance than chick lit. All his books are based in North Carolina which is where he is also based. The only exception to this is the book he wrote with his brother Micha Sparks called Three Weeks With My Brother. I enjoy almost every genre of literature, and avidly read everything from historical biographies to science fiction. I do tend to have favorite authors in each subject, and I have to say that Nicholas Sparks is an all time favorite in the Romance line. Its not the usual sappy love story with picture perfect characters and a predictable happy ending. He writes stories about realistic and relateable characters that have the same problems, fears and dreams that most average people do.
