Splendid Slippers - Beverly Jackson

This book is called Splendid Slippers by Beverly Jackson. I have always been fascinated about the details of chinese foot-binding and this book has some amazing photos.It is extremly well written and has plenty of details and facts on this bizarre form of female mutilation. The photos of the tiny "golden lotus" shoes at only 3 inches long are beautiful - the workmanship in these tiny shoes is unbelievable and it is hard to imagine the pain these women were going through while still stiching these lovely shoes.
