When this book came out I must admit I did look at it with a certain amount of scepticism a book version of a film script is normally a poor cousin to a film version of a book and I think rarely works. However I did not count upon the literary skills of Terry Brooks, I managed to snag the book for £3 in a bargain basement and I must admit being impressed. I will immediately confess to being a fan of the Star Wars movies (although I've never really been interested in the books before). When the book appeared in the shops weeks before the new movie, I immediately bought it, read it cover to cover and enjoyed it immensely. Then, with great excitement, I went to the cinema to see the long awaited film and was quite disappointed because it was nowhere near as good as the book. I've since seen the film on video about 50 times (literally) and although I do like it, it has nothing like the depth and eloquence of the book.
