At a guess I would think Will Hutton's political leanings are slightly left of centre..More socialist, than Blairist.. But I could be wrong ( I often am)..However that should not deter anyone interested in the socio/economic state of our country, at the end of the Thatcher/Major years, from reading this book.. Well written ,in a format those like myself with very little knowledge of economics on a grand scale, will find easy to understand.( Mine were confined to balancing the family budget).It gives a concise account of the failings and triumphs , such as they were, of 18 years of Tory government.. My daughter found it invaluable whilst studying ...
