A great read that leaves you wanting more.

Stay in your own backyard: Written by Joan Jonker, Published by Head line, Paperback with 480 pages.

Stay in your own back yard is Joan Jonkers first Molly and Nelly book that I purchased.
The story is set in Liverpool during the 1930's. follows the lives of Molly bennett and her best friend, or as Molly says "the bestest mate", Nellie Mcdonald along with both their families.

It is the 1st in a series of 8 books that see them grow through the years with both laughter and tears, as they struggle to deal with everything life throws their way, such as feeding and clothing their families, supporting each other and their neighbour who has a very violent husband. Oh, and finding their daily dose of gossip.
Nellie gets herself into all kinds of pickles while Molly spends her time getting her out of them.

What made me purchace this book was reading another peice of work by Joan jonker, "try a little tenderness".
When i started reading it i could not put it down. i found it very amusing and i wish i had neighbours like Molly and Nellie...life would be hilarious!
