Advantages: A great read, a decent price. Fast paced storyline.

Disadvantages: None

I have just finished reading this book, and I have really enjoyed reading it!
The story is very different to what I would normally go for, but I went for something different and I have found a whole new love for the 'thriller' side of the genre's. Although I wouldn't describe this book as much of a thriller, its not extremely gruesome and it doesn't scare you, but it is very emotional and really gets you thinking.

Price

I picked this up in the two for £7 range at Tesco, or it be bought for its retail price at £6.99. I prefer Tesco's prices on the books to be honest, and I never like to spend too much on a book!
£3.50 for this book to me was a bargain, but if you don't find you enjoy the read, then any price for a book would be a waste.

The book can also be bought from-
Play.com for £3.34 new or £2.49 Used
Amazon.co.uk for £4.38 new or £2.34 Used
I would recommend this book, as I thought it was a worthwhile read, it kept me interested throughout most of it and I really enjoyed it.

The Cover

I wouldn't normally write much about the cover of a book, but I do have to highlight strongly on this one, to not judge this story by its cover! The cover to me makes the book look like its going to be scary, gruesome, full of hatred and beatings.
This story for the most part is quite emotional and thoughtful, it got my heart racing on parts but I really dont think the cover fits the story for this one.

The Story

The story is very fast paced, and as the blurb mentions the character is kidnapped and her life changes. I imagined the story to be a lot about the character and her life with her kidnapper, but in fact I was surprised when this part of the story ended when I was only half way through the book!

**I'm trying to say this without giving the story away!

When the story changes, I did find I became uninterested for a while, but I made myself read on and in fact I was pleasantly surprised to find the story does pick up again! There are many shocking moments in this book, and many occasions where I found myself saying 'Omg' and telling my partner what was happening- although he hadn't a clue what I was talking about.

Annie's life with her kidnapper is very emotional, it kept me glued to the book and I felt the author did a great job of getting the reader involved with the emotions and the changing scenes.
Something quite major and upsetting happens to Annie whilst inside the cabin the kidnapper keeps her in, which I feel would definitely be quite emotional to some people.
As the cover mentions, she is 'Taken, Trapped and Tortured' although I thought there wasn't as much 'beatings' as I imaged there to be judging from the cover picture.
Annie's kidnapper abuses her more emotionally and mentally rather than physically in the violent abusive way, although there are a few scary violent scenes.

Annie's time with her kidnapper, and the strength she shows to carry on is quite inspiring, and all of her actions which got me questioning were all answered later on in the book.

After the kidnapping, half of the book is based upon Annie's life afterwards, although her ordeal doesn't end and as I said, there are many horrific new occasions.
I enjoyed reading about how the character copes after the kidnapping, and her relationships with everybody around her and how things changed- although it is quite hard to relate to the changes as there isn't much to read about her life before she is taken.

The book has quite a big twist to it, and I was very shocked when I read it, although I felt it made the whole book overall much better and more interesting.
I'm glad I don't know anybody who is reading this, as it would be very hard for me to not tell them the huge twist!

Overall

I would recommend this book! It is a great read, it isn't too horrific and I would say that besides the kidnapping, it is based more on family, relationships and love.
The price I paid was decent, and as I've recently found, it can be bought for a great price online if you don't mind waiting for it to arrive in the post!

Thank you for reading, I also post on Ciao

Summary: Worth a read!
