Advantages: Gripping

Disadvantages: The ending is a little odd

A realtor goes missing after showing an open house. 32 year old Annie Sullivan is about to pack up when a van pulls up and a man comes to view the house. She thinks she is going to get lucky and get a sale out of this guy - instead he abducts he and holds her hostage.
The story is written in the first person and each chapter starts with Annie talking to her therapist about how she is doing, the on-going investigation and then she lapses back into the story of the time she was held captive by a man she calls 'The Freak'.
It is a disurbing story but gripping and hard to put down. The way Annie adapts to her life while held captive and the brutal way she is treated is hard to imagine but it is well written so adds to the atmosphere and feeling you get when reading.
Still missing is Chevy Stevens first novel and it is a really good debut book. I did feel that the voice of Annie was a little masculine and at thought i was reading a male voice. I was also a bit shocked at how the story unravelled at the end because it really stretched my limits of believability - but i can't say too much as it will ruin the story.
All in all i enjoyed the book and will look out for another Chevy Stevens because i think she has better to offer.

Summary: A good read but not the best
