Advantages: A brilliant book of vivid storytelling to capture your imagination

Disadvantages: none. zero. nil. nothing. what can i say?

Pullman really knows how to captivate an audience.Every single word seems to allow the story to come to life. This is one of those books which pulses in your veins and makes your skin prickle with anxious sweat.
This is a gripping read about the possibiltity of our views on life being crumbled into meaninglesness as it dawns on the characters that there are endless worlds.

The main characters are two children called Lyra and Will. The book cunningly allows us to look on from both perspectives at the start as the two have not yet met as that is in their destiny. They meet in another world.
They come from different worlds. They both have a mission and it takes a while for them to realise they are on their own and cannot suceeed in escaping their situations. That is unless they work together. This book challenges every rule, theory and belief.

It is bound to work its charm as you read it it'll capture your mind and heart from the first page till the last.
