Advantages: Great twists!

Disadvantages: none

Katie Flynn I have to say is one of my favourite authors , her books are easy to read and I sometimes find it very hard to put her book down! Katie Flynn lives in the northwest , many of her early stories were broadcast on radio mersey and she has written other books as Judith Saxton.

As with a lot of her books Such Sweet Sorrow is set during 2nd world war in Liverpool.

~Marianne ~

Marianne seems to have it all a lovely house , a husband called Neil and young daughter called Libby. Marianne loves her husband and daughter and cares very much about her family.
When war breaks out and Libby is sent to wales Marianne decides that she should take on war work which she enjoys. She decides to go and stay with her mother by the docks as it is closer for work and only goes home to check on the house now and again.

~Neil Sheridan ~

Is a naval officer and is always away for long periods of time with a convey. He often turns up unexpected, when he is home he is a loving doting father.

~Libby~

Is a young girl who is evacutated to Wales to stay with Miss Williams who is a kind hardworking lady ,there is also another evacuee called Matthew who is wheelchair bound.
Libby soon gets used to rural Wales but is forced to return home when her mother has an accident.

~ Fiona~

Younger sister of Marianne seems to get her own way a lot , her aim in life is to do as little as possible but she eventually moves out of Gammy`s to start work as a wren.

~Gammy~

Marianne`s mother is quite old and lives by the docks , she enjoys looking after her lodgers and refuses to move out of her house even though it could get bombed.

This book is very good at telling Marianne and Neil`s story and then moving on to Libby`s , you will find quite a few twists in this book which surprised me a lot!

This is a story about war and romance and the way the author writes this book you will be shocked I think as to what happens!
There are 506 pages in total I and found the book to be quite exciting at times and not once was it boring.

I really recommend this book it is a very good read.

I bought this book for £3.86 in Asda

Summary: A very good book
