Advantages: Lots more to read in the same vein.
Disadvantages: None
This is the third book in a series of which 4 books have so far been written. In the books, a group of friends are on a quest for the long lost crystals of the Orokon. This book has an Arabian feel, with genies, magic carpets and eastern potentates. It could stand alone, but there are references to the adventures which took place in the first two books. Prince Jemany and his friends are struggling to regain the lost crystals of the Orokon, which seem to have lives of their own. The tale is one of good against evil, with ancient gods battling it out in the background. The characters battle against overwhelming odds but there are humorous incidents to lighten the atmosphere, and some almost surreal passages. One unpleasant character, Polty, has a very strange relationship with a certain part of his anatomy! Unfortunately, he is also possessed by the evil god, which leads to even more bizarre behaviour. Not everything is explained by the end of the book, leaving you wanting more. This book will be enjoyed by those who like a fantasy series where the characters and ideas are developed over several books and a whole world is created. The other books in the series are: 1. The Harlequin’s Dance 2. The King and Queen of Swords 4. Sisterhood of the Blue Storm.
