Although the title of this and some of the write ups perhaps lead you to believe that this is a story of an air crash it is far from it. The crash itself, although dramatic and graphically described by Herbert is little more than the lead in to the story. This story once more centres around one main character, this being the only “survivor” from the crash – Keller. Feeling guilty at being the only person to survive he tries to come to terms with why he was spared. I'm suprised I survived!! Like most thick books patience as well as dedication is needed to finis. Suspense is the technique used to grab the attention of the readers. Unfortunatly this booked lacked it and I found myself desperatly tryign to finish it in order to 'survive', it just dragged on from one death to another without giving a satisfying end to the story. If anyone manages to survive this book, and for me it was no easy task then you deserve a pat on the back.
