For any Lyn Andrews fans out there, this book is great. The books starts the story in 1916, two years into the first world war. Hannah Peckham, the character the book is based on, is six and her Dad is going off to war. I won't give too much of the story line away but she ends up in a workhouse in Wales until she is sixteen and then she moves to Liverpool to work in service for a posh family. The story carries on to see her fall in love with someone she can't have, then marry on the rebound and have a daughter. To say anymore would spoil the plot and ruin a good read.
