Initially, you think this is a ridiculous concept for a story, but the writers manage to bring in some slightly deeper elements so that it's not quite as daft as it sounds. Even so, it's reminiscent of those slightly silly Batman stories of the early seventies, before the Dark Knight found the shadows again. Interesting, but by no means essential. Next up is Blades, easily the best in the collection. This is a tale which plays to Tim Sale's strengths - bold, larger than life charac...more

Nothing too major

Funny Nothing major

Great fun for all ages. Some of the original humour can be lost in the translation

Brave storytelling that works Artwork hard to get used to

Wolverine, Electra, vast hoardes of undead ninjas, Captain America and battles galore none-the action roars across the page so fast it leaves scorch marks on your fingertips

More exciting than the first book, due to popular demand. Pressure from above interferes with Alan Moore's creative vision.
