Dr. Dana Halter has to go to the dentist‘s and afterwards to the college where she teaches English literature, she’s a bit late and has no time for breakfast, she gulps down some coffee and runs out of the house. Because she’s in a hurry and because she can’t see any cars at the crossroads, she doesn’t stop, she only shifts down. A policeman stops her, checks her papers and from then on nothing is at it was before, her life is turned upside down. The policeman comes back with his pistol drawn, clamps handcuffs over her wrist and takes her to the precinct where her fingerprints are taken, her things taken away and a mug shot is made, but she hears no charges. ...
