If you prefer your vampires to be more on the lighter side, then you will enjoy Lyndsay Sands' Argeneau series. A Quick Bite is the first in the series (despite being written after book 2) and features Lissianna Argeneau, a member of a family of Canadian vampires. Poor Lissianna has a bit of a problem for a vampire - she faints at the sight of blood. In an attempt to help her daughter, Marguerite Argeneau brings Lissianna a 30th birthday present: Greg, a psychologist, who Marguerite hopes will be able to cure Lissianna so that she can feed from the bags of blood from a blood bank like a modern-day vampire should.
