... Brooks is more well known for his Shannara series of books, which in my opinion not only rival Tolkein's Lord of the Rings, but far surpass it. In this series he takes a completely different tact, whilst they are not fantasy comedies, there is definitely a comic element to the books. This comic element makes for very, very easy reading which means the series would appeal to a much wider audience than just fantasy readers, it would appeal to children as well as adults, because the storyline isn't too complicated. The Tangle Box is the fourth book in the Landover series by Terry Brooks. Although it's a story in itself, in order to fully understand the book I think you'd need to read at least the first in the series, Magical Kingdom for Sale: Sold! This is the fourth book in the ?Landover? series and involves a complicated plot of deceit and double cross which is not resolved until the last few chapters. The book contains all the characters we have come to love or loath. If you can read the other books in the series first, I would do so but there is sufficient back story that you can start straight in.
