‘The te of piglet’ is the follow up to ‘the Tao of pooh’, and its principle is the same – Benjamin Hoff shows how the most over looked characters of Winnie the Pooh relate to the ancient Chinese philosophy of Tao. As the title suggests, this time Piglet is the main cause, and he demonstrates perfectly the Tao concept of ‘te’, that is the virtue of being small. Just as the readers of the original books believe Winnie the Pooh to be a loveable albeit unintelligent bear, people think of Piglet as a small, weak but cute in a helpless childish way.
