I do not read alot of books but when I do it is mainly in the nice weather when I can sit outside and relax. I visited a local market that had some second hand books and I noticed this one straight away. It is the sort of book that I like to read and I could tell that just by looking at the front cover. Tell me why mummy, is a heart-breaking but also inspiring book. It makes your stomach turn at times but it impossible not to keep on reading! The story is the true life experiences by David Thomas. David tells of his childhood and how he was sexually abused by his mother when she was drunk. When his mother wasnt drunk, he descibes her as a perfect mother baking cakes and playing games! Some of the abuse which occured is heart-breaking and definitley made me emotional. David doesnt go into too much graphic detail which is good as he tends to descibe other thigns such as his feelings and surroundings, making you feel like your there. Tell me why, Mummy is a book that a purchase from a charity shop it was part of a book set and they cost me £4.99 for eight books. All the book are about abuse etc. Tell me why, Mummy is written by David Thomas it is based on the true story of his life experiences. David was sexually abused by his mother and physically abuse by his stepfather. The book Tell me why, Mummy by David Thomas is 321 pages long and the RRP is £12.99. The cover shows a little boy with blue eyes and blonde hair I cannot really understand why as the book is a bout a ginger haired kid! However, I guess a cute photo attracts readers.
