My son got this book for his first christmas and it quickly became a favourite bedtime read. This is a large board book with ten plastic fish peeping through holes in the book onto the front cover. As you turn each page you get a verse of 'ten friendly fish ...', one goes off on an adventure and when you go to the next page one of the holes disappears leaving only 9 fish etc. There is a large and detailed surprise pop-up at the end with all the fish and the distractions from their journey, well its not much of a surprise now as I've told you and it also says it on the cover of the book so it was no surprise to me, but it does seem to suprise my ... Ten friendly fish is another of this month's selection for my son from the Library. The author of this book, Debbie Tarbett also wrote ten wiggly wriggly caterpillars which is a book my son owns and loves. He does love fish and so this book seemed an obvious choice. The cover The cover shows ten plastic modelled fish showing through cut-outs holes and a view of the ocean with sea horses swimming around. The book The book is twenty four pages long and made with thin card that is quite sturdy. Despite the holes for the fish this book does not seem like it is likely to rip with the exception of the final pop up page. ... Read the complete review
