THAT'S ANOTHER STORY is the title of actress Julie Walters' autobiography. The book is split in to 21 chapters of varying length. Walters' details in great length her childhood spent in the Midlands. Usually I find autobiographies that concentrate on childhood tedious, but Walters' stories are very heartfelt and she comes across as a loving daughter to her parents. She also came from a poor background and her parents had to fight for everything they had. Walters' talks openly about how she struggled at school and that she was suprised she went on to achieve what she did. Walters' trained to be a nurse and actually was for a number of years. ... I have grown up watching Julie Walter on TV and also in many feature films and so when I saw her autobiography 'That's another story' shortly before Christmas I was intrigued to read it. My first memory of Julie Walters as an actress was a film called 'She'll be wearing pink pyjamas'. At around the same time Julie seemed to be on every other show on television. I was struggling to think of something to buy my mum for Christmas and so I decided that I would buy her this book along with some other bits and pieces. My mother and I buy a lot of books for each other and we always swap them once we are finished which not only saves money but also means that the ... Read the complete review

"That's Another Story" is actress Julie Walters autobiography which came out late 2008. It is a hardback, published by Orion Books and stretches to 287 pages; ISBN 978-0-297-85206-3. The book is around £12 depending on where you buy it and is likely also available from your local library. This book wasn't one I bought, it was passed to me in the ways that books often are, so I probably would not have thought to buy it if I'd seen it on the shelves ..... but I'm glad I did get the chance to read it as it was thoroughly enjoyable! Born in the Fifties, Julie shares her childhood memories with her readers, growing up in Birmingham ... Read the complete review

She had a happy childhood and starts to book by telling us about growing up and all about her family. Julie talk a lot about life at home with her parents and what it was like when her Grandmother came to live with them. She feels that she learnt a lot from her Grandmother and that is why she is so good at playing the old lady parts. As she grew up she found she did not do too well at school and was shocked when she got accepted into a girls school. She found her place as the class comedian and this is how she passed her time at ... Read the complete review

I have long since been a great admirer of Julie Walters and her autobiography was one I had really looked forward to reading but I have to admit I did not really get as much out of the book as I thought I would have. Perhaps it was just me but she did not seem to put as much passion into her words in this book as one might expect from someone who puts so much passion into her work. That aside though the book was still a very good read and told of the lady since her birth in Smethwick in Birmingham back in 1950 and of her shock of being accepted into a girls school because she had never done to well academically. I knew a lot about the ... Read the complete review
