The dragon is one of the best books I've seen for the variety of textures, in general I do think the animal ones are better, we also have that's not my truck but there aren't many different textures to a truck really and the animals always have a furry page which goes down well. The books are a small size so good for little hands to hold themselves and these are...more

Another adventure in the Usborne Touchy-Feely Books saga. The Touchy-Feely books are created for babies and toddlers, and aim to help children develop their language and sensory skills, by including different types of fabric, colours and textures in every book. Each book follows a little white mouse that is looking for something that belongs to him. This time the little mouse is on a mission to find his missing dragon. ----------------- CONTENT ----------------- As always with the Touchy-Feely books, the story starts on the cover. Cover: "That's not my dragon... its ears are too ...  Read the complete review

Our grandson has had the Usborne touchy-feely series "That's Not My" by Fiona Watts since he was a year old. He's four now and he still really likes these books even now. The books start out as a good introduction to books and then become useful in teaching little ones descriptive terms as they grow older. Also, these are all board books so they're suitable from a few months of age. That's Not My Dragon is written by Fiona Watts with the illustrations by Rachel Wells. The book retails at £4.99 though Amazon is currently selling it for £2.99 which is excellent value for money. You can often get it as part of a 3 for 2 deal at places like ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review That's Not My Dragon - Fiona Watt: Thats not my book, but this is my review! (513 words)

Upon receiving some money off my father for Christmas, and having strict instructions that whatever it was spent on must be of the child's choosing, I found myself with the unenvienable task of helping him spend it reasonably wisely, and not splurge it all on sweets! (which at one point he really wanted to!). Upon one of our many, many trips to our local Asda, we were lucky enough to stumble across a sale rail that was being set up as we walked past, I loitered around for about 10 minutes, or at least until the girl arranging the display walked away and went for a rootle! On this display there were many different children's books, two of which I ...  Read the complete review

Ok - so every parent has been through it when there child has misplaced their favourite toy and we try to offer alternatives. This book shows one such story as we are shown one dragon after another til we get the right one. ***The Background*** Usborne seem to be very good at continually producing great quality books for children of all ages but this series of board books are aimed at pre-schoolers from the age of 1 upwards and contain lots of different things to feel along the way in the search for the correct toy. Written by Fiona Watts and illustrated by Rachel Wells these books are simple to read and lovely to look ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review That's Not My Dragon - Fiona Watt: That's Not My Dragon (274 words)

Rating:

That's Not My Dragon is one the many books in the series f Usborne Touchy Feely books written by Fiona Watt. The books are very good for children and are aimed at kids from 1-3. The idea is to teach kids to associate touch and sight with a word that they hear. The front of this particular book in the series has a picture of a friendly dragon. Above the picture it says 'That's Not My Dragon,' and below it, it says, 'its ears are too tufty' The ears are a bit fluffy and tufty and so the child can associate the word tufty with the feel of it, too. As you open the book up, there are a number of different textures and descriptive words, such as a dragon ...  Read the complete review
