This develops the child's understanding of what soft is, and how the hat feels soft to the touch. Further pages feature bumpy buttons with ridged card providing the touch effect, and a fluffy scarf. The colours used are normally vibrant and appealing, drawing the child in by giving it nice, bright colours to increase the appeal. It's nice that the book tells a story as well.
