I borrowed this book from a friend of mine, after she described the plot and I was instantly taken with it. Basically, it is a time travel story, where a modern day girl accidentally finds herself whisked back in time to the 1950s. The same friend had leant me the Time Traveller's Wife, which I'd loved, so I had high expectations. Once I started to read the book, I was immediately disappointed. It was written in typical chick-lit style, and nowhere near as good as the top authors of the genre.
