Crowned Review Transformations - Literal and Otherwise (1336 words)
by plipplop - written on 01/04/09 (Very useful, 135 readings)
Rating:

A review of the first numbered Amazing Spiderman graphic novel, reprinting issues 30 through to 35 of volume 2 of the regular comic book series, this volume was first published in 2002 and has since gone on to be re-published many times. A 'platinum' version can be picked up for a little under £4. It's a new era in Spiderman's life. Estranged from his wife Mary Jane and back at home with his beloved Aunt May, for Peter Parker it feels like a return to his roots. Out web-swinging late one night, he is confronted by a mysterious stranger who calls himself Ezekiel. Older and, undoubtedly, wiser than Parker, what is more remarkable about Ezekiel is that he appears to possess exactly ...

Premium Review Aunt May vs Wolverine???? (219 words)
by pert_abacus - written on 19/02/09 (Very useful, 17 readings)
Rating:

Volume 10 of the Amazing Spider-Man is both a cracking read and a direct lead into the character redefining (& fairly poor) story 'The Other'. Written at a time when Spider-Mans status quo was being changed every few months this tome features Spider-Man living & working with the New Avengers and battling the forced of HYDRA. It's a good book with some classic moments, who ever thought they'd see Aunt May Parker put Wolverine in his place, and some cool team-up action. The artwork is spot-on throughout & Straczynski has a good feel for his characters & their dialogue. I recommend this book wholeheartedly alongside the others in this ...

Premium Review Behind the mask (259 words)

Rating:

Last year Marvel had a major event in the Marvel universe of super heroes. After a tragic event with many deaths, the government forced all of the super heroes to register their names and powers. This is trouble for all of those who have been keeping their identity a secret. Peter Parker is one of those people. When i first heard about this series i immediatly thought about what would happen for Spiderman. One of the major recurring themes is that of people discovering who he is, and how that effects his life and those around him. In this comic, he is placed infront of the camera, unmasked. This works well because its such a change. You keep reading because you want to know what ...
