This is book I first read while I was an undergrad, and it left such an impression in my mind, that I came back to it a few months back as inspiration for what was to develop into my master's thesis. I would like to say that I know Simon James personally, but as one of hundreds of students he has taught, there is no way he would remember me - I certainly remember him though. He is one of the most prominent, influential and controversial British archaeologists of this generation, and a wonderful lecturer to listen to (in fact, he regularly pops up on the History Channel and Time Team).
