I decide to get this book based on the strength of a couple of reviews on this site as it seemed to be quite interesting and I was also looking for some light hearted reading for material while I was away with work as it can be quite strenuous and I need to wind down quite quickly.

The story revolves around three central characters who all live together, the main character is known as Nan which is short for Nancy and she is the elderly matriach of the house, then there is Mum whose name is Karen and finally her seventeen year old daughter Charlotte. What I liked about this book is the innovative way that the story unflods as each character voices their opinions in the first person however each has a way of starting a sentance and it is shown in the style of the text at the start of what they are saying, it takes a while to get used to but is pretty easy once you work it out and this style allows the story to flow quite naturally and to give you every ones side of the story. The crux ofthe story revolves around the fact that Charlotte is pregnant and as such you get three generations opinions on the upcoming event and the impact it will have on the household and the relationships within it.

This book certainly has its funny moments and the characters are well developed, it is an easy to read book with a nice style of delivery and I would recommend it to anyone looking for some easy reading while on holiday.
