The Famous Five: Five Get into Trouble - Enid Blyton

Premium Review Famous Five's most adventurous adventure yet! (351 words)
by pmcds - written on 07/07/08 (Very useful, 46 readings)
Rating:

Five Get Into Trouble is the 8th book in the series of 21 Famous Five books penned by Enid Blyton. This one was first published in 1982, and it features the children yet again going off on an adventure in the English countryside with no adult supervision, something that was more than acceptable in the early part of the 20th Century but would be frowned upon now. The books are considered some of the best children s books ever written, and they certainly have a special place in my heart, as I read them all as a child and have since read them a dozen or so times each. The Famous Five are Julian, Dick and Anne Kirrin, their cousin George (Georgina) and her dog Timmy. Five ...

The Famous Five: Five Get into a Fix - Enid Blyton

Premium Review Blyton doesn't get it to click (327 words)
by pmcds - written on 07/07/08 (Useful, 7 readings)
Rating:

Five Get Into A Fix is the 17th in the series of 21 books by Enid Blyton featuring the Famous Five. Many view the books as the best children s literature ever, and they are incredibly popular, and have been since their original publications in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. I agree with this viewpoint as they were my favourite books as a child and I still read them now from time to time. The Famous Five are Julian, Dick and Anne Kirrin, their cousin George (Georgina) Kirrin and her dog Timmy. Five Get Into A Fix sees the winter holidays for the Five, and they travel to Wales to spend their holidays in a chalet. near the chalet is a large house and grounds, which they are ...

Rating:

Mystery of the Burnt Cottage - by Enid Blyton ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a real fan of Enid Blyton s books as a child, it was with genuine delight that I bought a copy of Mystery of the Burnt Cottage to read to my two youngest nephews (especially since the book was one I hadn t previously read myself). Main Characters: ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The book is essentially a detective novel (for children obviously) and the plot is centred around a group of children who name themselves the Five Find-Outers and Dog . The findouters are brother and sister Pip and Bets, brother and sister Larry and Daisy Daykin... and the wonderfully politically incorrectly named Fatty ...
