I picked this up from the library a few weeks ago as I've been reading a lot of autobiographical style books lately. At first, I didn't recognise the author but on reading the blurb at the back I realised Richard McCann wrote 'Just A Boy'. 'The Boy Grows Up' is the sequel to his first bestselling book which told of his experience as a child and adolescent. McCann is the son of one of the women murdered by the Yorkshire Ripper and the first book detailed his journey as a child and teen, being bought up after his mum had been cruely torn from his family.
