Her main ... more  ... character, Maud Silver, is clearly very similar to Miss Marple. However, despite the similarities, Wentworth does usually manage to put together a very readable story and this one is certainly no exception. This book is of the 'cozy' country village type of crime fiction, one of which I am very fond for its ability to help me escape.

Jacob Taverner is a millionaire nearing the end of his life. Although he comes from a huge family, a family row split everyone up many years before and few of them are in touch. Jacob puts an advert in the paper and invites those who respond to an inn (The Catherine Wheel of the title) on the coast for a weekend's holiday. The family are rather an eclectic mix; from station porters to ladies of leisure and from the start, it is clear that they are unlikely to get on all that well. The best start to a Grisham book I have read 
A few of the twists can seem to be a little far fetched think Harry Bosch or Elvis Cole with magical abilities and you won't go far wrong A bit slower than the previous novel STORM FRONT but still a very engaging, thrilling read Very readable, intriguing Confusing ending An entertaining read, Deals well with the racial issues If your not a fan of Grisham you probably wont enjoy it Easy page turning read gaping plot holes and laughable dialogue.
