Disadvantages: too general, only one way to do things

I was lent this book by a friend when I was pregnanct and I have to say I wasnt exactly impressed. I hvae read other books on pregnancy and birth and have them them to be far easier to use and much more appropriate to what I was going through.

I found the book took a one way stance in that you will be like this and often i wasnt, whereas other books were more you may be like this or like this, which I find more helpful. I have found even more since having my little boy that there is more than one way to parent.

I have seen interviews on the television with her sicne I had my little boy and I havent found her information to be useful or accesible to me.

I know many people love her book and this is only my opinion, but if you're looking for a book that covers more than one way to do it, then this isnt the one for you.

Is this the same book 'Conception, pregnancy and Birth' by the same lady? . Perhaps an updated version, I don't know. Not having had the wonderful experience of motherhood, as yet, I thought the book wonderful. The First Chapter deals totally with the pre-pregnancy issues, such as IVF, a subject very close to my heart and other infertility problems. A friend of mine (pregnant with twins) I recommended this particular book too and she spoke very highly of it. I hope to progress onto further chapters in the future, (fingers crossed!!)

I have found you can get a wider spectrum of information from pregnancy and baby magazines.
