I've been a vegetarian for a little over 5 years now, but that doesn't mean I don't care much about food. In fact, I'm really interested in food and I would say it's one of my biggest passions in life. I love to discover new foods, love to cook, and even more than that I love to eat. Therefore I have quite a few vegetarian cookbooks, but my copy of The Cranks Bible is one of my very favourites. The Crank's Bible was written by Nadine Abensur who used to run the vegetarian chain Cranks. I've never eaten at Cranks but I'd imagine it must be very good because every recipe I've made out of The Cranks Bible has been excellent. The book is divided into the ... Read the complete review

Some people think vegetarian food is dull, worthy and generally second best to something (anything!) with meat or fish. Others are completely vegetarian, whether on principle, for health reasons or just because they prefer it. I'm somewhere in the middle. I certainly enjoy meat, fish and the like, but reasonably often will choose to cook and eat something veggie. The thing I love about this book is, the author - as well as being an imaginative and inspired cook - is very confident about her vegetarianism.
