The da vinci code is a gripping tale of mystery, intrigue and backstabbing. Telling the story of Robert Langdon as he travels around the world trying to solve a mystery left by Jacques Saunière .He is helped by Jacques Saunière daughter Sophie Neveu. They are hoping to find the holy grail, a religious item first believed to be the Goblet Christ drank from at the last supper. Before a shocking discovery takes place and they find it is actual the remains of a certain "prostitute" they are looking for. They face many challenges during the book including being chased throughout by an albino and being backstabbed by an old man with polio.

I have to say the pure writing style of Dan Brown fill this book with tension and with his perfect descriptive writing you can really visualize the surroundings from the pages, I actually think I found more about the surroundings from the book than the film. Dont worry though the a picture speaks a thousand words rule doesn't apply as the book isn't huge and won't take you to long to read. I'd say about 5 hours constant reading, possibly quicker if you're a quick reader, careful not to skim read though as you will miss important storyline sections.

This is definitely one of the best reads out there and the only disadvantage I can think of is the fact that you won't be able to put it down and you will lose 5 hours in what feels like a matter of minutes. I picked this book up from Oxfam for about £1 so if you see it buy you won't be sorry.

Summary: Definately one to read
