In one word - fantastic! Welcome to Venice in 1756. Horrific murders are about to happen and the best person to solve the crime is Pietro Viravolta who is also known as the Black Orchid and currently awaiting execution in prison. Bring in to the mix Pietro's best friend Casanova and you have two people determined to prevent their own deaths by solving those of others. It's a good mix of history and crime and linked to `The Historian' and `Labyrinth' neither of which I have yet read and therefore unable to comment on.
