I'm not a huge crime and mystery novel fan. I don't really know much about the author, Jed Rubenfeld. In fact I probably wouldn't have chosen this novel had it not have been one of the chosen books in a book club I belong to. However I am glad I read it as something a bit different. The instigators of the Wall Street bombing of 1920 never did get found out. Rubenfeld does his best to explain his theories in this thrilling novel. His piecing together of factual information, his exploration of the term 'terrorist', his imagination and his own personal twist, all make for an exciting read. The Death Instinct is the follow up novel from an Interpretation of Murder by American author Jed Rubenfeld following on from the successful merger of fact and fiction in the Interpretation Rubenfeld once again uses the fictional Dr. Statham Younger to investigate a real life event.
