Advantages: Great selection of recipes, very easy instructions, mass appeal

I bought this book a few years ago and I use recipes from it every week. The recipes are a mix of old fashioned comfort food and healthy modern favourites. The recipes although healthy are very tasty. Even my fussy kids enjoy most of the dishes I've cooked from this book.

The instructions are simple and kept to a single page. This is by far the cookbook I turn to the most. Lots of family favourites from the entrees and desserts.

All of the recipes are made from scratch. So no packet sauses or jars involved. I certainly learned how to make a fews things like while sauce and homemade custard from this book.

Great Curry, Sheppard's pie and Spaghetti recipes. I haven't bought cookie dough since we've had this book. The chocolate chip cookies never last more than a few hours in our house. My daughter regularly makes muffins following recipes from this book.

It's useful to have the everyday and then catering quantities for each recipe. There are quite a few pages on the author, St Peter's school and how the book came about. These could be condensed into a few pages.
